The accolades continue to roll in for the De La Salle baseball program following another outstanding season, as several Spartans were recognized on the 2026 Bay Area News Group All-Bay Area Team. Leading the way was senior pitcher Graham Schlicht, who was named the Bay Area News Group Baseball Player of the Year, capping one of the most dominant pitching seasons in school history. Schlicht also gained statewide attention earlier this season after setting a California record with 62 consecutive scoreless innings.
A Stanford-bound right-hander, Schlicht anchored the Spartans' staff throughout the spring and helped lead De La Salle to another championship-filled campaign. His consistency, leadership, and ability to dominate opposing lineups made him one of the premier players in Northern California and a deserving selection as the Bay Area's top player.
Schlicht was joined on the All-Bay Area squad by several teammates who played key roles in De La Salle's success throughout the season. Ben Hayden '27 hit .479 with 24 RBI's, joined Schlicht on the first team. Outfielder Austin Grove '26Â did not commit an error all season, earned a second team nod. Senior Zach Tchejeyan provided valuable leadership from the catcher position and was named honorable mention.Â
Congratulations to Graham and all of the Spartans honored by the Bay Area News Group for their outstanding achievements during the 2026 season.
