The De La Salle baseball program is once again the king of the North Coast Section.

The Spartans claimed their second consecutive NCS Division I Championship on Saturday with an impressive 6-0 victory over Granada, securing the program's 16th North Coast Section title and continuing another memorable postseason run.

De La Salle was dominant from the first pitch to the final out, led by a masterful performance from junior pitcher Cooper Barnes. Barnes threw a complete-game two-hit shutout, striking out six batters without issuing a single walk. His command and efficiency on the mound kept Granada off balance all afternoon and provided the foundation for the championship victory.

The Spartan offense delivered timely hits throughout the contest before breaking the game open in the fifth inning. Austin Grove and Brandon Vargas paced the attack with two hits each, helping spark a decisive five-run frame that put the game out of reach.

The championship adds another chapter to De La Salle's storied baseball tradition. The Spartans have now captured 16 North Coast Section championships, further cementing their place among the nation's premier baseball programs.

With the NCS title secured, De La Salle now turns its attention to the CIF Regional Playoffs.

The #1 seed Spartans will host St. Francis in the CIF NorCal Division I Quarterfinals on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. as they continue their pursuit of a Northern California championship.
