Lacrosse posts big win over Monte Vista in EBAL play

The Spartans lacrosse team took on undefeated Monte Vista on Friday night and, after Brady Smith scored in the opening seconds, never trailed in a 11-6 win for its 17th straight EBAL win.

The Mustangs had not allowed more than eight goals in any of their previous 10 contests and also had not scored fewer than eight goals in any of the previous games but the Spartans scored eight by halftime and held Monte Vista to its lowest goal output of the season.

Nick Musco paced the way with three goals, Alex Trette added two, and Smith, Danny Esparza-Pagano, Kingston Hushyar, Jude Beeken, Kellen Dunn, and Cade Dunn all had one goal apiece.

The 9-3 Spartans next play Southern California power Corona del Mar and the action starts at 7pm on Wednesday at Owen Owens Field.
