Spartans Advance to Quarterfinals with Shutout Win Over Acalanes

In the opening round of the North Coast Section Division I playoffs, the 17-4 Spartans posted their second shutout of the season in a 22-0 victory against Acalanes.

In their fourth highest scoring goal tally of the season, the Spartans received four goals from Kellen Dunn. Cael Carscadden and Alex Trette each had three goals and two assists. Cade Dunn and Jude Beeken both tallied two goals and two assists...Jameson Mitzel and Kingston Hushyar each scored two goals and Danny Esparza-Pagano, Luke Johnson, and Danny Schaeffer all scored once.

Defensively, it was a stress-free night as Parker Lee and Nick Veran each made two saves.

The third-seeded Spartans will next host sixth-seed Marin Academy in the NCS Division I Quarterfinals on Thursday at 7pm in a rematch from a March 7 Spartans win.
