Stats - NCS Open Championship vs Pittsburg

A few notes on the game. 33rd consecutive NCS title (no playoffs in spring 21). DLS now 112-3 in NCS playoff games and has won the last 88. The 24-10 first down deficit is the largest since St. Mary's-Stockton had a 36-20 advantage on Sept. 20, 2024. It's also the most first downs allowed by DLS since the St. Mary's game. The 10 first downs tie for the fewest for the Spartans in a game since Justin Alumbaugh became the coach (also Oct. 8, 2021 vs. Folsom).

JaVale Jones 309 passing yards is the 16th time in DLS history an opponent has thrown for 300 yards, and the sixth in a playoff game. The last opponent to throw for 300 was Dash Beierly of Mater Dei in last year's CIF game. Jones individual total is 11th all-time for an opponent and fifth for a playoff game. Rolph Mosley and King Wade each had eight receptions which is tied for seventh allowed by the Spartans all-time in a playoff game.

The 42 passing yards for DLS is the 17th lowest in a playoff game.
