De La Salle Set to Host 41st Annual Spartan Invitational – Travis Wood Memorial

The De La Salle golf program will host the 41st Annual Spartan Invitational – Travis Wood Memorial on Monday, March 9 at Diablo Country Club. The annual event brings together top high school programs for a full day of competition on one of the East Bay's premier courses.

The tournament will begin with an 8:30 a.m. registration, followed by a 9:00 a.m. coaches meeting and a 9:15 a.m. player meeting. Players will be transported to their starting holes at 9:45 a.m., with a 10:00 a.m. shotgun start scheduled to begin play.

In addition to the team competition, players will have an opportunity to participate in the tournament's Long Drive Contest, held on Hole No. 10. Drives must finish in the fairway to qualify, with the five longest drives advancing to a final round following the completion of play. The final will take place from the No. 5 tee box, hitting up the No. 9 fairway.

Awards will be presented to the top three finishing teams as well as the low three individual performers at the conclusion of the tournament.

Spectators are welcome and encouraged to attend. Guests are asked to remain on the cart paths and refrain from communicating with players during competition.
