The 2025–26 De La Salle Varsity Soccer team delivered an impressive campaign, finishing with a 16-6-1 overall record while capturing the East Bay Athletic League (EBAL) regular season championship and advancing deep into postseason play. Competing against some of the top programs in California, the Spartans qualified for the ultra-competitive NCS Open Division and later made a strong run in the CIF NorCal Division II playoffs, reaching the semifinals.
What made the season especially impressive was the makeup of the team. With a young roster gaining valuable experience throughout the year, De La Salle combined skill, resilience, and relentless effort to consistently rise to the moment. The Spartans were guided by a small but impactful group of seniors whose leadership, toughness, and competitive spirit helped set the tone for the entire squad.
The team's success was also reflected in postseason recognition within the EBAL. Senior defender Ryan Roy was named EBAL Defensive Player of the Year after anchoring a Spartan back line that consistently shut down some of the league's top offenses.
De La Salle placed four players on the All-EBAL First Team: Preston Spalasso, Flynn Salyapongse, Ellis Toal, and Garrett Paik, each playing a key role in the Spartans' strong team play throughout the season.
Earning Second Team All-EBAL honors were Joey Ospeck and Bryce Vincent, whose performances and consistency helped power the Spartans during league competition.
With a league championship, a deep NorCal playoff run, and a young core gaining valuable experience, the future of De La Salle Soccer is bright. The 2025–26 season showcased the program's tradition of competitiveness, character, and teamwork—and laid a strong foundation for continued success in the years ahead.
