Spartan Athletics Weekly - Feb 21, 2022
This is a recap of the prior week’s action in DLS Spartans Athletics!
Basketball
The Spartans were able to utilize the time in between games to rest up and prepare for our next opponent. We found out that the Miramonte Mats will be on Winton Dr come Wednesday night at 7:30p.
Miramonte advanced to the semifinal game by defeating Granada 79-67 last Thursday. They also beat San Ramon Valley earlier this season, giving them plenty of belief that they can compete with the EBAL member schools.
Soccer
The soccer team won their first round and quarterfinal games by a combined score of 13-0. The Spartans dispatched 16 seed James Logan 7-0 in the opener on Wednesday and then defeated EBAL rival Monte Vista on Saturday 6-0.
Our next match is set for Wednesday against former BVAL rival Clayton Valley Charter. The same schools last met in a memorable semifinal back in 2012.
Wrestling
It was another banner winning day for the Spartan grapplers at the NCS Championships over the weekend. DLS captured their 12th NCS title and also qualified 9 individuals for CIF State. Team scores - Team scores (top five): De La Salle 318.5, James Logan 170.5, Granada 169, Ukiah 166, Casa Grande 130.
