De La Salle High School Names
ROBERT ARROYO head WATER POLO Coach
CONCORD, CA (January 29, 2020) – Robert Arroyo has been named the head varsity water polo coach at De La Salle High School, Vice President for Athletics Leo Lopoz ’94 announced on Wednesday. “Robert brings tremendous passion and love for the game of water polo and has extensive experience in all facets of the game,” said Lopoz.
Coach Arroyo received his MBA from Central European University and BA in legal studies from UC Berkeley. He was a four-year letterman in water polo and swimming at Foothill – Santa Ana High School where he was named CIF Player of the Year. Robert was a decorated student-athlete at UC Berkeley and played professionally in Europe. “I am excited to join the family of De La Salle in a coaching capacity and am appreciative of this wonderful opportunity,” said Coach Arroyo. “I am committed to maintaining the high standards of performance and sportsmanship that are commonplace at De La Salle. For my family and myself, this is the opportunity of a lifetime!"
Coach Arroyo has an extensive coaching history as an assistant at Long Beach State, head coach at Los Positas Junior College, and recently at Acalanes High School where his team earned the North Coast Section Division 1 championship last year.
Coach Arroyo and his wife Cat have a four children; Quinn (11), Kiley (9), Jackson (6), and Griffin (3). His wife Cat is the Assistant Athletic Director and head water polo coach at Carondelet.
