Concord, Calif. (Feb. 23, 2021) - De La Salle High School Vice President for Athletics, Leo Lopoz, announced today the schedule for the 2021 Football season. In addition to the Spartan Football schedule, Lopoz also announced 2021 schedules for Cross Country, Golf, Tennis, and Swimming and Diving. The remaining outdoor sports schedules will be finalized in the coming days.
The Spartan Football schedule includes a total of six varsity games for De La Salle. The Spartans will open the season on March 13th with a non-league game against Saint Mary’s of Stockton and will also play NorCal opponent Jesuit of Sacramento (April 3). The remaining four games of the schedule will be played against East Bay Athletic League (EBAL) opponents, with the season finale on April 17th against Clayton Valley Charter.
On January 29, five De La Salle sports were approved to begin competitions. Those sports included Cross Country, Golf, Swimming and Diving, Tennis, and Track and Field. With Contra Costa County moving into its most recent Youth and Adult Recreational Tier, 10 of De La Salle’s 13 sports will be cleared to resume competitions on February 26th. The indoor sports of Basketball, Volleyball, and Wrestling must wait until the county moves into the Yellow Tier to resume competitions.
During this time, De La Salle will live-stream home football games and a number of other on-campus events, including Junior Varsity and Freshman competitions, through CBSSports Live and DelasalleTV.com. Game and broadcast schedules will be posted and updated on the De La Salle athletic website and on the DLS Spartans app. All schedules are subject to immediate change.
