De La Salle High School Announces 2026 Athletic Hall of Fame Class

CONCORD, Calif. — De La Salle High School proudly announces the induction of the 2026 De La Salle Athletic Hall of Fame Class, recognizing an exceptional group of student-athletes, coaches, and championship teams whose accomplishments have left a lasting legacy on Spartan athletics and exemplify the school's enduring tradition of excellence.

The Class of 2026 celebrates individuals and teams whose achievements span more than five decades of De La Salle history. Together, they represent state and national champions, All-Americans, professional athletes, championship coaches, and lifelong ambassadors who have advanced the values of faith, integrity, scholarship, leadership, and brotherhood that define the Spartan experience.

The 2026 De La Salle Athletic Hall of Fame Class includes:

• Michael Barton '12 – Football and Track & Field

• Travis Carrie '08 – Football and Track & Field

• Don DeRosa '75 – Football, Educator, and Coach

• Danny Driscoll '05 – Water Polo and Swimming

• Kyle Roemer '04 – Basketball

• John Harvey (posthumously) – Head Track & Field Coach (2007–25)

• Brian Voltattorni  '98 – Head Soccer Coach (2003–11)

• 2007 Lacrosse Team

• 2012 Football Team

"This Hall of Fame class represents the very best of De La Salle athletics," said Leo Lopoz, Vice President for Athletics at De La Salle High School. "Each inductee has demonstrated extraordinary achievement, leadership, and commitment to excellence while reflecting the values that have defined our school for more than six decades. Their accomplishments continue to inspire current and future generations of Spartans."

Among the individual inductees is a dominant linebacker and exceptional multi-sport athlete, Michael Barton '12. Michael helped lead De La Salle to three remarkable football seasons, including an undefeated national championship campaign in 2010 and a California Open Division title in 2011. His decorated career included multiple All-American honors and recognition as one of California's premier defensive players.

Travis Carrie '08 is one of the most versatile athletes in school history. A state champion in football and one of Northern California's elite sprinters, Carrie earned the school's 2008 Athlete of the Year honors before continuing his football career at Ohio University and spending nine seasons in the National Football League.

Don DeRosa '75 exemplifies the lifelong spirit of the De La Salle brotherhood through his contributions as a student-athlete, educator, coach, and mentor. DeRosa was an all-league offensive lineman on the Spartans' 1974 football team. He later returned to his alma mater as a Physical Education teacher and coach, positively impacting generations of student-athletes while helping build the foundation of De La Salle's athletic tradition. Since his graduation more than 50 years ago, he's had an unwavering commitment to the school with his continued involvement in alumni and athletic programs.

Danny Driscoll '05 helped establish De La Salle as a Northern California water polo powerhouse, earning All-American recognition while contributing to four league championships and three North Coast Section titles before continuing his collegiate career at UC Davis.

Kyle Roemer '04 is recognized for an outstanding basketball career that culminated in leading the Spartans to a 30-2 record, North Coast Section and Northern California championships, and a CIF State Championship appearance while earning All-Bay Area honors.

The coaching inductees honor two transformational leaders whose influence permanently shaped Spartan athletics.

The late John Harvey is recognized for nearly two decades of extraordinary leadership of the Track & Field program. During his tenure, De La Salle became one of California's elite programs, capturing multiple North Coast Section championships and developing countless student-athletes. Following his passing in 2025, the Spartans honored his legacy with a historic championship performance that reflected the lasting impact of his leadership and mentorship.

Former soccer coach Brian Voltattorni guided De La Salle from 2003 through 2011, leading the Spartans to seven league and five North Coast Section championships while establishing one of Northern California's premier soccer programs through sustained excellence and player development.

The Hall of Fame Class also honors two landmark championship teams whose achievements transformed their respective programs.

The 2007 Lacrosse Team earned the program's first North Coast Section Championship, captured the Diablo Valley Lacrosse League title, and established the foundation for what has become one of Northern California's premier lacrosse programs.

The 2012 Football Team completed a perfect 15-0 season, captured the California Open Division State Championship, and finished as the consensus No. 1 team in the nation. Under legendary Head Coach Bob Ladouceur, the Spartans took on one of the country's toughest schedules. They reinforced De La Salle's reputation as the national standard for high school football excellence.

Since its inception, the De La Salle Athletic Hall of Fame has honored individuals and teams whose accomplishments have significantly contributed to the rich history and tradition of Spartan athletics. The Class of 2026 continues that legacy by recognizing those whose competitive excellence, leadership, character, and lifelong commitment have elevated De La Salle High School and inspired generations of student-athletes.

The Class of 2026 will be recognized on Friday, October 30, at the De La Salle versus Amador Valley football game, as the school celebrates these outstanding honorees alongside their families, teammates, coaches, alumni, and friends during a special halftime celebration honoring their remarkable contributions to De La Salle athletics.
